Educational Goals/ Development Plans

Electrical engineering not only has a broad academic field but also is an integral part of various industries. A wide range of practical application fields, such as power systems, electrical machines, power electronics, discharge/high-voltage engineering, microprocessors, mechatronics, and factory automation design, are closely related to our lives. Furthermore, in today’s world, its academic value is increasing as an essential field of research and development related to alternative energies.

In 1994, the Department of Electrical Engineering was chosen as an engineering college for government projects in the electrical and electronic field and has been investing heavily in cutting-edge training equipment and curriculum development in accordance with the government’s specialization policy. Theoretical understanding is maximized through sufficient experiments and practical training, and the application competency and creativity of students are stimulated through the use of a variety of cutting-edge training equipment and materials. Moreover, activities of the student council are encouraged, and the human qualities of students are developed through one-on-one meetings with professors.

Furthermore, under the ultimate goal of education to foster highly professional and technical people related to electrical engineering who are needed in the domestic and international industrial communities with increasingly advanced cutting-edge technology, we are developing more specialized educational equipment and curriculums and nurturing students who will become the cornerstone of national development. To fulfill these specifically, we pursue the following educational goals and student qualities while focusing on the abilities and qualifications that the students should possess two or three years after graduation.

Educational Goals

1. To cultivate basic engineering knowledge through rich theoretical education and a variety of practical training.
2. To cultivate system analysis ability and creative design ability needed as electrical engineering students.
3. To cultivate awareness of ethical responsibility and cooperativeness required as engineers.
4. To cultivate specialized research skills that can lead the information age and to develop a lifelong learning mindset.
5. To cultivate on-site practical skills and international cooperation ability required as electrical engineers, the key to the development of fundamental industries of the nation.
